ROOFTOP POWER PLANT ...

In Bengaluru most of the people live a green lifestyle. Their homes are powered by solar panels, which produce enough energy to meet individual family’s needs. This can easily be made feasible in the real estate landscape of Kolkata. Kolkata is stepping up its game in ‘green living’ and the rooftop solar panels are on its way to become the new eco-friendly housing trend in the city.

Only a handful of developers in Kolkata have so far installed solar panels in residential complexes. However, the current trend clearly indicates that many other developers are keen to integrate the new technology in their upcoming projects. There is also a tremendous amount of Government initiative fuelling the green drive, inspiring both individual households and developers to play their part in contributing to a greener world by reducing carbon footprint.

From the stand point of a developer after considering above facts there is definitely a growing awareness and a deeper penetration level of knowledge as far as the benefits of green energies are concerned. Green solar system is expected to power the future and be a game changer for the real estate sector in coming years. Surya Kiron EPC team with their in depth knowledge of designing, procuring, constructing and maintaining Rooftop Solar Plants will be of tremendous help to both real estate developer and individual households.

‘Rabi Rashmi’ is West Bengal’s first ever solar residential complex developed in the year of 2008. Each home unit, utilising its rooftop solar panel, generates 2 KW of energy efficient solar power. This is used for domestic purpose and the excess energy is fed to the gird. The community centre has an electricity generation capacity of 8 KW, which is utilised to power the water heating systems for all the 25 bungalows in the complex. Area lighting system is also lit by solar power. The Power Supply Company is paid on net metering basis.

The project, back in 2008, was the brainchild of West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency (WBREDA) and was engineered and managed by Development Consultant Limited.

West Bengal Government has taken different steps to popularise solar energy usage. Prevailing building regulation of Kolkata Municipal Corporation specify that any high-rise building over 15.5 Metres in height will have to install rooftop solar panels. For other municipality areas of West Bengal the cut off mark is 14.5 Metres which is approximately the height of four storied building.

In an attempt to slash crippling power bills and promote green energy the Government of West Bengal is planning to light up government offices by installing solar panels on the roof of the buildings. It is believed that the state power minister wants the project to cover all state government offices, municipalities, corporations, panchayats, state run public sector undertakings and all other autonomous bodies of the state government. The project is named ‘Aloshree’ and is being implemented by West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL). The project has the support of the State Chief Minister.

Solar panels can be used for a wide variety of applications including remote power system for cabins, telecommunications equipment, remote sensing and most importantly for the production of electricity by residential and commercial buildings. Demand for electricity is growing rapidly to satisfy the needs of people. Therefore, it has become almost a necessity to increase usage of Solar Power. We, at Surya Kiron, promise to contribute in fulfilling the demand of people for solar power at lowest possible cost.

The Sun produces more energy than we will ever need. Therefore, there is tremendous scope of increasing usage of solar energy in our day to day life. No greenhouse gas is emitted in the atmosphere when we use solar panels to generate electricity. Therefore increased usage of solar power will make our planet a better place to live in.

Solar power is a much more optimal resource than fossil fuels. Ultimate way to compare solar energy to fossil fuels is by cost, where solar has quickly caught up with its non-renewable counter parts. Solar electrical energy generated from rooftop plants results in saving money on electricity bills as we do not need to pay any amount to any authority for using sunray.

Our end to end solutions allow us to deliver energy to our clients at lowest cost. A strong and focussed EPC team and a dedicated O&M service team ensure that we design and deliver rooftop solar solutions for governments, institutions & corporations and individual house owners alike, efficiently and effectively.
